Hi, I'm Katie

I’m Houston born and raised, and there’s nothing I love more than this city — its energy, its culture, and its endless possibilities for celebrating love. Family has always been at the center of my world (I’m one of four kids!), and it’s probably why I’m drawn to moments that bring people together in such a meaningful way.

 

My path to wedding planning wasn’t a straight line. I graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2020 and began my career as an insurance defense attorney here in Houston. The legal world sharpened my skills in organization, communication, and attention to detail — but my heart was somewhere else. I found myself spending more and more time helping friends and family with their weddings and events, realizing how much joy, creativity, and fulfillment the process brought me.

 

When I got engaged myself, my passion deepened. I had binders, spreadsheets, and vision boards that went on for miles — I assumed everyone did! But I quickly learned not everyone dreams in timelines and color palettes. Planning my own wedding with an incredible team of planners and vendors opened my eyes to how valuable a calm, capable, and creative planner can be, and it lit the spark that became Something You.

 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of Houston’s top luxury planners, discovering what makes truly exceptional events come to life. I combined that insider experience with my legal background to create a company built on precision, creativity, and genuine connection.

 

Something You is all about delivering a luxury experience — without the luxury price tag. I believe every couple deserves an elevated, intentional celebration that reflects who they are. When I’m not designing dream weddings, you’ll probably find me with my husband Greg, our two dogs, and our backpacks — either exploring new places, cheering on the Horned Frogs, or catching some sun at the beach. Those moments of joy and connection are what inspire me most and remind me why I do what I do.

 

What began as a side hobby has become my purpose — creating weddings filled with joy, meaning, and moments you’ll remember forever. Because your wedding should be more than something new. It should be SOMETHING YOU!
